My custom rod-building shop infuses my passion for being on the water with my desire to have the best-performing fishing rod for every fishing tactic out there.
I began custom rod building in high school, and I've been at it for 22 years. When you get your hands on a Kraemer custom rod, you can immediately understand how my 22 years of experience are poured onto that very rod.
With a focus on freshwater rods, my Kraemer Custom Rods offer lines of spinning, casting, and custom ice fishing rods on a pre-built basis or customized from the start.
Purpose Built
My KCR team is obsessed with creating rods that connect you to the water, conducting every vibration from the turn of a willow leaf blade to the subtle take of a panfish jig on the fall.
I even go so far as to ensure the grips and reel seats are the lightest to be found. My goal in building the most lightweight custom rods is to ensure you experience every vibration and catch more fish in your time on the water.
When you reduce the component weight of a rod, you are left with a significant percentage of the rod blank available to conduct vibrations to the angler. I can build rods with longer or thicker grips if that interests you but know I'll start your build process, keeping you very aware of the benefits of gathering every available vibration.
The Materials
I have Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 customization capabilities, and I use Northfork Composites for most of my rod blanks.
The spinning rod lineup has three models, starting at the ultra-light Joe Pro, weighing in at 2.4 ounces, and going through to the 3.5-ounce ProSpin.
My casting rod lineup is equally obsessed with being sensitive and light, starting with our 3.3-ounce, 6' 3" Bass Kicker Flipper to our longest offering in the 7' 7" Bass Kicker Swimbait rod. I offer these pre-built lines with the flexibility to customize the colors and include name personalization.
If you'd prefer to start custom from the blank up, I enjoy designing exactly what you need with you. At this point, you can truly see the passion I put into each hand-built custom fishing rod.
